Neurontin and lyric are a death sentence for the new brain synapses: shocking study

A shocking study shows that these two drugs block the formation of new brain synapses1, drastically reducing the rejuvenating potential of brain plasticity, which means that these drugs will cause a brain shrinkage that apparently rob one of the ability to rebuild. The study that shows this type of brain damage with these two drugs came out in 2009, but apparently the media have been very lax in disclosing this information to the public, most likely because they do not want to jeopardize their advertising revenues from this company.

But patients are not the only ones who do not get this information because doctors apparently have no idea. I say this because first our Facebook group for these two drugs “Neurontin (Gabapentin) and Lyrica (Pregabalin) should be illegal” is growing so fast. Then, this past spring, my brother, who worked on some things in the backyard, threw a muscle in his back. I was surprised to know that I had gone to the doctor for that and the doctor gave him a prescription for Neurontin.
When I asked him when he had started having seizures he would need an anticonvulsant medication because he said, “What?”
I had to explain to him that Neurontin is an anticonvulsant medication and that the company had received two huge fines, totaling billions, from the FDA for prescribing it for anything else. And in 2010 they were even convicted of RICO, yes of organized crime, to encourage doctors to prescribe this drug off the label, for things that are not approved, such as pulling a muscle in the back! Then I shared with him the information from this study that indicated the brain damage of the drug and, understandably, decided not to take the drug.
Although I have included the full article below, here is the link to the article you must follow to find the full research study if you want to take it to your doctor to educate it: https://www.wellnessresources.com/news/neurontin- and-lyric-are-a-death-sentence-for-new-brain-synapses # ref1

Now my question is: why has the FDA not taken these drugs out of the market in light of this study? I ask because before this study, the worst thing I had seen when producing brain damage was the Fen-Phen and Redux weight loss pills that were withdrawn from the market due to brain damage they produced … even though the media convinced the world of those drugs due to damage to the heart and lung It was the brain damage to which the FDA was concerned and had required studies of the manufacturer to prove its safety. Something they had not done before Dr. Una Mc Cann of the NIH did a study that showed the most horrible brain damage. Those drugs were removed only a few days later.

Neurontin and Lyrica are a death sentence for the new brain synapses

Neurontin and its new more powerful version, Lyrica, are widely used for unapproved indications that are a flagrant danger to the public. These highly successful drugs were approved for use even though the FDA had no idea what they were really doing in the brain. A surprising new study shows that they block the formation of new brain synapses1, drastically reducing the rejuvenating potential of brain plasticity, which means that these drugs will cause brain decline faster than any substance known to mankind.

The problem of these drugs is compounded by their flagrant illegal marketing. Neurontin was approved by the FDA for epilepsy in 1994. The drug underwent a massive promotion not indicated on the label that cost Warner-Lambert $ 430 million (the first major fine for non-registered promotion). The medication is now owned by Pfizer. Pfizer also has Lyrica, a super powerful version of Neurontin. It has been approved by the FDA for various types of pain and fibromyalgia. Lyrica is one of four drugs that a subsidiary of Pfizer illegally traded, resulting in a $ 2.3 billion deal against Pfizer.

Although the marketing of these drugs has been heavily penalized, they continue to accumulate billions in sales of non-approved uses. Doctors use them for all kinds of nervous problems because they are good at suppressing symptoms. However, such uses can no longer be justified because the actual mechanism of the drugs is finally understood and they are creating a significant long-term reduction in nerve health.

The researchers in the previous study try to downplay the serious nature of drugs by saying that “adult neurons do not form many new synapses.” That simply is not true. The new science is showing that brain health during aging depends on the formation of new synapses. Even these researchers managed to question the common use of these drugs in pregnant women. How is a fetus supposed to produce new nerve cells when the mother takes a drug that blocks them?

These are the kind of situations in which the FDA should have ended. As usual, the FDA is sitting reflecting on a suicidal warning for Lyrica, while its unapproved uses include bipolar disorder and migraines. It is likely that the FDA will mix their thumbs during the next decade on the subject of brain damage. Be careful with consumers
